20 air quality monitoring stations to start by Oct

Tribune News ServiceNew Delhi, June 13Delhi will have 20 new ambient air quality monitoring stations, procurement of which is in an advanced stage and the work order for them will be issued soon. “The new system is designed in such a manner that it will cover the existing gaps in measuring ambient air quality,” said an official. in order to give a true representative character of air pollution in the city. The matter was discussed today during a meeting of the Environment Department and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee convened by Environment Minister Imran Hussain. These stations are supposed to be installed in different land use areas, including residential, industrial, commercial, institutional etc.
